Day 1 : Welcome to Athens !
On arrival you will be met by our assistant and transfer to your hotel. Detailed information will be presented to you about all art and music events taking place in Athens during your stay, also a list of fine restaurants for the best taste of Athens. This first day is an opportunity for a walk in the center. Stroll into the picturable alleys of Plaka area, enjoy some “Ouzo” along with heavenly taste “mezedes” with the view of Acropolis rise above the city.
Day 2 : Take a Walk to Ancient History
The best way to see Athens is a walking tour. You can feel the vibes, explore every sense and meet the locals! We’ll start the day by walking to the Acropolis hill where you’ll enjoy a guided tour to Parthenon, the Erectheion & the surrounding monuments. We’ll then descend to Acropolis museum, in order to have a tour to its fascinating exhibitions. Our exploration will continue on by crossing Andrianou Street, the most distinctive street of Plaka neighborhood, the imposing Roman Agora the vivid life of Monastiraki Square and the surrounding streets of Athens Central Market with Little shops selling herbs, delicacies, nuts, household items & many more. We keep walking to Syntagma Square and take some time to watch the valiant Evzones in front of the building of the Greek Parliament. Next to the lush green oasis of the National Gardens and the extraordinary Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games took place. We continue for a little while, we’ll reach the Zappeion Hall -an impressive neoclassical building- and afterwards we’ll feel amazed by the size of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Hadrian Arch. Our walk will come to an end in front of the Lycicrates monument in Plaka. Evening return to hotel
Day 3 : Breathtaking Cliffs
The next day brings you to Santorini. Our representative will transfer you to port for a cruise to Santorini. Relax 5 days at this scenic volcanic island with its breathtaking views and white washed houses draped along the high cliffs of Santorini’s breathtaking”Caldera”. Walk through the villages of Oia and Fira and Imerovigli and board a traditional Greek boat to visit the red and black beaches and more. See the numerous villages outside the Caldera such as Perissa, Perivolos and Pirgos. Visit volcanic wineries sampling a variety of whites and reds along with local cheeses and Santorini’s famous tomato paste and “Fava”.
Day 4 : Noiseless Breeze
Leisure is at its finest on the cliff side of Santorini where infinity pools and cave suites offer bests of luxury a noiseless breeze giving you nothing but the private relaxation. Take the opportunity for a Sunset Sailing on a luxury Catamaran with BBQ and Drinks. Make the most out of your time in Santorini with this relaxing and tranquil sunset sail on a catamaran. Enjoy the splendid views from the catamaran as it sails around Santorini. Swim and snorkel in the blue see and indulge in a delicious barbecue dinner prepared onboard with grilled seafood: fresh squid and tuna; roasted vegetables, zucchini, bell pepper, and eggplant. The salty and velvety aroma of grilled feta fills the boat as you dine amidst the serene water and looming islands. The sun begins to set and casts an orange luminescence along the horizon. Day 5 : Volcanic wine tales
Today you have the chance to taste and see at 3 wineries in this wonderful island tour where you will get to visit traditional wineries and taste the wines of Santorini! Learn about the wine history of the island, the native grapes and the traditional and modern winemaking methods! Walk in an old, phylloxera-free, basket shaped vineyard and become familiar with the Santorini’s distinctive terroir ! Enjoy a wine pairing with Cycladic cheese and local delicacies!
Day 6 : The origin of Atlantis
Our morning tour begin with a visit to Akrotiri Excavations, a prehistoric village from the Bronze Age, frozen in time by ash during the minoan volcanic eruption 3,600 years ago. Some speculate that this is the origin of Atlantis – a mythical city, lost in time. Continue to Pyrgos to visit the former capital of Santorini and the best-preserved medieval settlement on the island, the village of Pyrgos is unique because it is the highest village of the whole island, providing great panoramic views of both sides of the island. Day 7 : Minoan Civilization
Cruise to the next destination, Greece’s largest island, Crete. A Culinary paradise with friendly people and amazing sites. Arrival at port of Heraklion. Free time for a walk to capital of Crete ! Heraklion is the capital of Crete and one of the Mediterranean region’s most fascinating and vibrant cities. It is full of places to discover. Enjoy a visit to one of the famous waterparks at Heraklion area (self guided )
Day 8 : Τhe Myth of labyrinth
Next day brings you to Culture and political center of the Minoan civilization, Knossos is the largest Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete. Visit the maze of work – living rooms with detailed images of Cretan life on the walls of the palace. Your journey to ancient Crete continue and you will enjoy a performance in a stone-build open air theatre. The Minoans worshiped the mother goddess symbolizing the blossoming of nature, fertility and wellbeing. Imagine an afternoon where these habits, traditions and customs come back to life and where you can get a small idea of the Minoan Religious and Cultural events of over 4000 years ago! Day 9 : Pictures and memories for home
Some free hours for final shopping or take a few photos of the island and our representative will meet you for your transfer to airport for flight back to Athens
